Traditionally termed leaded lights, these are panels made from shaped pieces of stained glass that are assembled using lead came to make a larger ‘picture’ or other graphical representation. Once complete, the panel is then ‘cemented’ using putty thus making it fully weatherproof. The technique dates back to mediaeval times and although the tools used have advanced in design and the glass is manufactured using modern methods, craftsmen from that period would recognise the tools and principles and probably find it easy to adapt.
As well as being able to create and build new leaded panels, I am also able to offer a repair and renovation service. Please contact me for further prices and details.
